The Center of Excellence and Application for Clinical Research Support Unit, established as part of the collaboration initiated in 2023 between Roche and İnönü University—following the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş—was officially opened. Driven by Roche’s vision to contribute to the sustainability of healthcare services, this partnership aims to enhance the efficiency of clinical research in the region and ensure the uninterrupted continuation of treatment for participating volunteers.
The Center of Excellence and Application for Clinical Research Support Unit, inaugurated on Tuesday, June 24 with the participation of representatives from İnönü University, and Roche Türkiye, will operate in a prefabricated structure. This facility includes observation rooms where patients can be admitted, infusion and blood collection rooms prepared for treatments, as well as dedicated work areas for healthcare personnel and field coordinators. Built to be portable and relocatable in case of potential disasters, the unit allows for the secure storage of all investigational products and clinical research documents. Thereby, the goal is to ensure the integrity of patient data and the uninterrupted continuation of treatment processes for patients participating in clinical research.
Speaking about the collaboration with Roche Türkiye, Rector of İnönü University Prof. Dr. Nusret Akpolat said: “As İnönü University, we continue our efforts with the goal of ensuring the continuity of not only healthcare services but also scientific research. In line with this vision, we are very pleased to bring our Center of Excellence and Application for Clinical Research Support Unit to life.
